It’s rather unusual to link food with one’s libido. But, the fact that remains unchanged is that, the energy that we require to carry out any form of activity has its source in the kind of food we consume. So, why can’t sex be related to our diet?
Food and sex have always been connected, atleast theoretically! Many of the ancient texts on the art of love, such as the Kama Sutra, include potions and recipes said to get couples in the mood.
Aphrodisiacs are certain special foods and drinks that are said to raise the libido and send your desire soaring through the roof. While naughty treats like chocolate, cream, champagne and some of the other aphrodisiacs mentioned are OK, once in a while. The staple ingredient of a good sex life is a well balanced diet.
Onions also have a great history. Egyptian priests were not allowed to eat onions in case temptation compelled them to do the forbidden. So just because, it’s not been medically proven that aphrodisiacs affect sexual desire and performance, there’s no reason why you can’t use onions to spice up your life in the bedroom.
Onions have, almost since prehistoric time, been attributed aphrodisiac properties. They were the most used aphrodisiac in ancient Greece and Rome, and are frequently included as an ingredient in erotic recipes.
No need to go to an extent to overtly cook onions just to get the right taste. It’s actually the raw ones that do the real wonder. So, try raw salads, pav bhaji with lots of onions as garnish, moghlai dishes usually have raw onions as side servings. So make sure that you do not miss out on these whenever you enjoy these dishes.
Onions have been the subject of new research linking them to lower incidence of certain cancers. Onions are also known to provide vitamins A and C, calcium and iron to our diet.
The world, in which we inhabit today, provides everything at an arm’s length. Lifestyles have become increasingly sedentary as more and more people are opting for a comfortable desk job. In other words, comfort levels have increased and people have forgotten the relevance of basic human needs like staying fit, loving and enjoying good sex to maintain a healthy body.
So there you have it. With a bit of imagination and a trip to the market for some fresh onions and other vegetables, the time is ripe for a sensual and sexy dinner for two. This way you can pep up your sex life and also your entire lifestyle.
Everyone has unique areas that can be stimulated to produce sensual and erotic feelings. Too much of a good thing can leave us feeling more sluggish than sexy and actually lower the libido, so remember – everything in moderation.
